The prestigious Perfect Delivery: Bowls SA “B” Inter-Districts Championships came to the greens of the Modderfontein Bowls Cub from Monday, March 9th to Friday March the 13th, 2020.
The club was one of four in the Ekurhuleni district (including Edenvale, Alberton and Delville/Germiston) which hosted competitors (men and women bowlers) from 20 South African bowling districts.
Bowls South Africa divided the men’s and women’s tournaments into two sections, on a league basis with all teams in the same section playing each other.
Each game was played over 21 ends, split into three sets of seven ends each.
The silver and gold medal play-off finals took place at Edenvale Bowling Club, on Friday and the Men and Womens winners were both : JBA (Johannesburg Bowls Association).
Carol Gaynham, President of Modderfontein bowls, said: “It is a big privilege to be chosen as one of the hosts of this prestigious tournament.
“The tournament comes to Ekurhuleni once every 10 years, so it is terrific to be a part of it.”
Gaynham added that the club was chosen as one of the hosts because of the excellent facilities available at Modderfontein Bowls Club. “We have two bowling greens that are in good condition and we are also able to cope with the service and catering requirements of Bowls South Africa.
