The office and Executive of Bowls SA has been working tirelessly in trying to conclude the “return to play” protocols with the Government. They received a copy of Government Gazette Vol 661 No. 43507 dated 6 July 2020 late last night.
The various clauses published are ambiguous in the extreme and contradict other clauses in the same gazette. It would appear that Federations are required to re-submit their plans before the Minister will grant permission. Clause 10. 6G (3) indicates that Sports Bodies may not resume training or matches before this written approval is received from the Minister of Sport. Sub-Clause (4) indicates that the Minister must respond within seven working days to our application. They will clear these matters with the Dept of Sport today and address a letter to the Minister. It would therefore appear that they should expect a response by Friday next week.
